About MANN-Filter
MANN-Filter is the aftermarket brand of MANN+HUMMEL, a German filtration giant founded in 1941 in Ludwigsburg. The company is one of the world's largest filter manufacturers and supplies OE filtration to virtually every European car manufacturer β VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volvo, Ford Europe, PSA and Renault all use MANN-Filter components on significant ranges. MANN+HUMMEL also owns WIX Filters in the US following the 2016 acquisition, making the group a global player from a single technical base.
What MANN-Filter is known for
Oil filters β MANN-Filter spin-on and cartridge oil filters cover most European engines. The construction is OE-specification: matched media, calibrated bypass valve, correct relief flow rate. On most premium German engines where oil-filter housing design is integrated (cartridge inside an aluminium housing), MANN-Filter is one of the original OE suppliers.
Air filters β flat-panel and conical air filters with OE-spec pleated media. The "FreciousPlus" cabin filter range adds a biofunctional layer to neutralise allergens and pathogens.
Fuel filters β particularly important on modern common-rail diesels where water separation and micron rating are critical. MANN-Filter's diesel filters are calibrated to the specific HP fuel system.
When to choose MANN-Filter
For service filters on virtually any European vehicle β MANN-Filter is one of the safest OE-equivalent choices. The construction matches OE-spec, the price point is fair, and the coverage is excellent. For Mercedes and BMW specifically, MANN-Filter is often the original OE part. For Asian applications, Denso or Hengst may be the closer match depending on the model.
